Guild of Letting is delighted to announce that our Annual Conference is scheduled for the 18th September 2014 in London.

Following on the heels of our acclaimed 2013 event, this is the landmark gathering in our calendar.

We know and respect how busy you are in your daily business lives, so every year, we are committed to bringing you a line up of speakers that we believe will help you move your business forwards and make it worthwhile taking a day out.

Often in business, we work in isolation.

Taking a day out – and away from the Inbox – to refresh your knowledge, invest in yourself, and network with your peers is one of the optimum ways to create new momentum and energy to take back into your business and raise your game.

Our conference has never been more important.

2014 is a pivotal year for the U.K.’s private rented sector with new regulation coming into play.

Mid this year it will become mandatory for all lettings agents to sign up to a Property Ombudsman scheme, and Boris Johnson’s London Rental Standard is also being rolled out in the capital.

At Guild of Letting we see this as a tremendous opportunity for those agents who have voluntarily committed to professional standards to set themselves apart from the competition and get ahead of the regulation curve.

Our 2014 Conference will equip you with the information and tools to leverage the changes in the PRS and come out on top!

Our CEO Susie Crolla comments:

“Its an exciting year in the PRS in 2014 and our Annual Conference will reflect that.  We are proud of our community of like-minded professional people who are committed to consumer protection and raising standards.  Our conference is a meeting place of like minds where changes and transformations occur and this year will be no exception”.

In the meantime, here are our top tips for successful networking:

1.  Attend events with an open mind and consider new ideas, products, and services that may help you move forwards.

2.  Go with the intent of seeing how you can contribute to others, not take for yourself.

3.  See if you can introduce and connect people to each other and be a conduit for new relationships.

4.  Take plenty of business cards.

5.  Listen to others rather than speaking about yourself.  See where you can add value to a conversation.

6.  Be open to randomness and serendipity and do not dismiss people who you think are not relevant to you.  They may know someone who is!

7.  Follow up the event with an email or a meeting to develop the relationship started at the event.
